Day 32 update
Dear friends,
Well another week has gone by. Jess is becoming a little more active. Some baby steps that we have seen are, lifting her right leg (not on command), rubbing her eye purposefully, and following really well with her eyes. But the more active she becomes, it seems the more agitated she is. She was constantly pulling her wires off and unfortunately pulled her trach out yesterday. Pretty bizarre and oh how that must have felt. She really hates the trach thing.
She grimaces with pain alot more, which is hard for us because we don’t know where she hurts. She does get pain medication which seems to help.
She won’t be at the hospital too much longer. In fact, she’ll probably be moved this week but we aren’t sure where yet. Hopefully she will be able to go where we would like to have her. We are still waiting on that. All the nurses at LDS hospital have commented on how well she’s doing. They all say she’s a sweetie. The nurses have been awesome and we wish we could take them with us to wherever Jess goes next.
Jessica is having a priesthood blessing tonight. The family has been fasting for her. We are still clinging to hope. We hear stories of miracles all the time and often ask, “Why can’t that be Jess?”. Or, it could be Jess.
We miss her terribly everyday. We tell her about all the love and prayers that are sent her way. We tell her to be strong and fight and that we need her back.
As always, we are so committed in helping Jess and will continue to do so [baby steps]. We pray always for her recovery.
Thank You
The Krehbiel Family
