Day 98 update
Dear Friends,
Time for an update!
Jess is doing good in rehab. Some days are better than others. Some days she’s not cooperative and then on other days, when she puts her mind to it, she does great. Her walking is really coming along. Her physical therapist called her a “Rock Star”. She thought that was a crack up.
I had thought of this cool way to help Jess learn balancing, with a snowboard with the boots attached. Tim tries this with her in the evenings. She can balance for a little over 5 minutes on her own! Good idea huh.
Speech therapy is brutal mostly for me. It is usually two hours long and like I said before, the first 45 minutes is usually discussing Jessica’s accident and her injury, which she still denies and says she’s ok now and we have to tell her she’s not but getting better every day. I can hardly stand it!
Jessica is doing very well, amazingly well. I can’t help but be so grateful that she’s come this far in such a short amount of time. We are trying to get our house ready for her to come home. She will be home for Christmas. Then we will take her to Utah Valley Out Patient therapy every day. I know life will be different when she’s home. I’ts bittersweet. I’m a little scared and I know the adjustment will all be so new. She is so excited to come home. I just pray she keeps the fight and continues to progress and work hard. That is her best chance at a life. We know she can do it. She’s absolutely a sweetheart and is very aware of people, friends and her situation. She misses her friends and family so much. She cries alot and I hug her and tell her “Jess, it won’t always be this way, things will get better Jess”. There are good times when she is laughing and smiling her beautiful smile.
Please remember Jessica. Keep praying for her brain and body to continue to be healed and that she can find peace and hope in her situation. We continue to devote our time and love to Jess always.
Thank you all. Your comments are so uplifting and bring us much joy.
Love to all,
The Krehbiels

We love you Jess.
