Day 158 Update - Jan 28th, 2007

Dear friends and family,

If you are reading this, it means that you are checking in to see how Jess and things are going and we appreciate that so much. Thank You!

The pictures of the car that are located in the photo gallery were taken recently. Jessica was coming home from horse therapy and she had been shown many times where her car was but never had actually seen it. Fortunately my mother, Jessica’s Grandma, got Jess in to see her car. I immediately came cown to take pictures. I had not really seen her car up close and Jess had never seen it. Wow! If you’ll notice in the first picture of Jess standing by her car she’s not smiling, her comment at that moment was “look at my car, look at it! I can’t believe it.” And while I was taking the picture she said “I’m not going to smile”. Then there’s the second picture of her standing by her car and she is smiling. Her comment then was “I can’t believe I made it. I can’t believe I’m alive.” It was certainly an eye opener to see that car and that experience was really part of a healing process we both needed.

Jessica’s attitude and spirit is so light. She is always reminding us to be happy and look on the bright side (what a blessing). She continues therapy and has gained quite a respect for her therapist now, even though she doesn’t like it at times and would rather be having a 21 year olds life. She understands this will help to get her well and back to her life. I as her mother would like more therapy for her especially speech and physical therapy and we are looking into that. The comments that Mr. Roper left on the website about making her own therapy and visual stuff, we are practicing. Thank you!

Jessica and I are both looking forward to warmer days and getting some fresh air. Jessica continues to get better. She is so aware of her situation and misses her friends and former life terribly but we just encourage her and remind her that it won’t always be like this. There are happier days coming.

We did get a typing tutor on the computer and both Jess and I are going to brush up on our skills. She actually is teaching me alot about how to navigate on the computer. Jess is also getting better at checking her planner and remembering things. It just takes time.

I struggle a bit. I feel I have been tramatized by all the events and am working it out day by day. Jess is always so positive. She truely is an angel. I’m daily walking with my angel. What a gift!

Thank you to everyone who spends time with Jess or just stops to say “hello”. It means so much.

We ask humbly for your continued prayers for our daughter Jessica. Faith, believe.

Love the Krehbiels
Tim, Geri, Sara (Kade Baby), Samantha and Ben
